Functions of Union Parishad

1. The main functions of the council will be as follows-

A.	Administration and establishment matters
B.	Protect public order
C.	Services related to public welfare work
D.	Formulation and implementation of plans related to local economic and social development.

2. Based on the main functions mentioned in sub-section (1), the functions of the council are described in the second schedule.
Functions of Union Parishad described in Second Schedule -

Five schools and various term development plans.
Development, conservation and maintenance of rural infrastructure.
Relating to education and primary and mass education activities.
Implementation of health, family planning related activities.
To take necessary activities for agriculture, fisheries and livestock resources and other economic development.
Taking necessary steps for epidemic control and disaster management.
Assignment and collection of taxes, fees, tolls, fees etc.
Perform necessary activities related to family dispute resolution, welfare of women and children.
To take necessary initiative and provide cooperation in sports, social development, culture etc. activities.
To take necessary measures for the development and protection of the environment.
To fulfill the responsibilities assigned by the government to maintain law and order and to take necessary activities.
Birth-death registration.
To take care of government places, open spaces, parks and playgrounds.
Lighting of lamps in the streets and public places of Union Parishad.
Plantation and conservation, prevention of theft and destruction of tree resources.
Maintenance and management of cemeteries, crematoriums, public meeting places and other government property.
Prevent unauthorized entry into highways, highways and government places and stop harassment and its causes in these places.
To prevent damage, destruction or destruction of highways and highways.
Ensure collection, removal and management of dung and road waste.

Taking measures to produce extra food.
To control and maintain the loss of cattle.
Arranging first aid center.
Take other necessary measures for the safety, comfort or convenience of the residents of the Union.
Encouraging the introduction of e-governance.
Expansion of cooperation with other organizations engaged in similar activities like Union Parishad.
Responsibilities imposed by the Government from time to time.
